READING & WRITING
READING
We work with a combination of the Wonders reading series and leveled books to increase our love of learning to read!
WRITING
We use the Handwriting Without Tears writing program with a combination of Six Traits. We will be working on our handwriting books to review correct letter formation. We will be writing in every content area.
CONTENT CONTINUED
SPELLING LISTS
Our spelling lists will be taken from the word lists provided in our reading series. The words will be based on a skill group and word families. See the newsletter update for the current list of words.
MATH UNIT
Math in Focus is the series we use for our scope and sequence of skills. We use a lot of hands on, manipulative, work to help learn and strengthen skills.
INTEGRATED CURRICULUM STUDY
Our integrated curriculum focus for the beginning of the year is based on our classroom norms, expectations, and community building.
ENERGY BUS
This is the school-wide program that will be utilized with all grade levels and all specials. Please see the newsletter or the school web page for the details for the focus of the month.
